MORE THAN QUALIFIED!!

It has been nearly two months since the first practice of the season, and now it was time to begin reaping the rewards that come from hard work, diligent practice, and hours of skill development. It was the Adirondack Junior Olympic Championships, the first qualifying meet of the season. Those that placed in the top four finishers in each event would earn the right to advance to the Region 1 Junior Olympic Championships in Kingston, NY at the beginning of July.

"Without question, this was our opportunity to show the Adirondack Association the diversity of talent that the Country Mills Eagles possessed!" exclaims head coach Anthony Mills. He adds, "We knew this would be the beginning of a long awaited and anticipated run on our way to the National JO's in Baltimore, MD at the end of July."

With 18 Gold Medals, 20 Silver Medals, and 13 Bronze Medals, the Country Mills Eagles earned the third place trophy, missing out on second place by less than 40 points! "Third place is a disappointment." said team captain Anthony Mills Jr., who had two Gold and two Silver on the day. "We were capable of taking second at this meet, but we missed a couple of key athletes that could not make it to the meet today. Hopefully, this will make a better and a stronger team next year!"
