"To me, we must learn to spell the word RESPECT. We must respect the rights and properties of our fellowman. And then learn to play the game of life, as well as the game of athletics, according to the rules of society. If you can take that and put it into practice in the community in which you live, then, to me you have won the greatest championship."

FAQ

Q: Who are the Country Mills Eagles?

A: Country Mills Eagles is both an Athletic Club and a Music Club. Programs are run throughout the year for both clubs, as well as private instruction and teaching. Our goal is to provide the highest level of quality instruction, and at the same time enjoy the benefits of healthy competition.

Q: Who can participate in the Country Mills Eagles Programs?

A: Athletes and Musicians (beginners or advanced) between the ages of 6 - 19 years of age for our youth programs (including private instruction), but all of our programs are also open to adults of all ages as well. In most of our athletic programs, we have adult levels well past the Master's division. Our athletes and musicians come from south of Albany to north of Saratoga, from as far west as Utica and as far east as the Vermont border. Many parents have found that our programs are worthy of the journey.

Q: Where are the Eagles located?

A: We do not have one particular location for our programs, as that is largely dependent upon the program and the participants involved. Nonetheless, we currently have an office location in the Town of Clifton Park.

Q: What will donations and fundraising money be used for?

A: Fundraising monies are used to purchase new equipment, upgrade uniforms, travel for away games or meets or matches, and to develop the Youth Athletic / Music Facility, which is currently in the planning stages. There will be more information on this when it becomes available.

Q: Are your programs for Recreation or Competition?

A: We feel that both are necessary for the healthy development of an individual. However, when it comes to "practice with a purpose", the development and progression of skills comes from training. This makes our programs fall into the "Competition" phase, as recreation is fun for the moment, but demands no training or improvement of skills. From our perspective, teaching each student to develop their skills and talents to the fullest is what separates us from most other organizations. Competition, in the purest form, is not about doing better than someone else, it is about becoming the best one can become! If that "best effort" out performs another, then victory is welcomed with open arms, but if it is not enough to out perform another, then the other team or individual deserves the victory. From that point, we work harder in the development of skills, which will enable our team or any of our individuals to a better performance the next time.
